Alto Peak

Alto Peak is a hiking destination in Ormoc City, Leyte, Philippines. Alto Peak offers an ambitious mountain experience in the uplands of Ormoc. Known as one of Eastern Visayas’ defining high summits, it attracts hikers looking for forest trails and an extended physical challenge. The climb requires more preparation than a roadside viewpoint visit, with weather, route conditions and the return journey all affecting the plan. Views depend on cloud cover, so the forest and terrain are important parts of the experience even when the summit panorama is limited. Local guiding helps match the route to the group’s capability. Use an experienced guide and confirm registration, equipment and the full return itinerary. Carry sufficient drinking water and wear footwear suitable for uneven ground rather than urban sightseeing. A realistic turnaround time is as important as reaching the viewpoint or summit. Cloud and rain can change the experience, so include room in the plan for local advice.
